When Grass Ridge Farm, in Sonoita, Arizona, stopped hosting Eventing competitions in 2014 we formed SAzEA to keep eventing alive and viable in Southern Arizona. In January of 2017, SAzEA entered into an agreement with the Pima County Fair Commission to lease 60 acres adjacent to the PCF for our cross-country course. In March 2018 we celebrated the completion of our new, and southern Arizona's only, cross-country course by hosting our first USEA sanctioned Horse Trials.
Southern Arizona Equestrian Association (SAzEA) promotes equestrian education and development in Southern Arizona by supporting and conducting eventing competitions, clinics, and schooling opportunities in a safe, wholesome environment that fosters good sportsmanship and enjoyment of the sport.
Our venue is at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, Arizona. The fairgrounds provides outstanding dressage and jumping arenas, boarding facilities, and RV hookups. Our course currently supports Pre-Comp through Training level cross-country riders, with additional tracks and levels planned for 2018/2019. Ultimately, our goal is to host two USEA sanctioned Horse Trials a year. Everything we do is funded through fundraising and donations from our supporters. You can Donate to help us make this vision a reality.
